Terms of Service
Last updated: March 25, 2026
1. Welcome to TatMap
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of TatMap, a platform operated in Canada that connects tattoo clients with tattoo artists. By creating an account or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
TatMap is a marketplace. We facilitate connections between clients and independent tattoo artists but do not employ the artists and are not a party to the agreements between artists and clients.
2. Account Registration
To use TatMap, you must create an account with accurate information. You must be at least 18 years old to use our platform. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
You may register as a Client, Artist, or Studio Manager. Each role has specific features and responsibilities. Artists who wish to receive bookings must complete their profile with accurate portfolio images, pricing, and availability.
3. Bookings and Payments
When a client books an appointment through TatMap, they agree to the artist's stated rates, deposit requirements, and cancellation policy. Deposits are processed securely through our payment partner, Stripe.
Artists set their own rates, deposit percentages, and cancellation windows. TatMap is not responsible for disputes about pricing that was clearly stated at the time of booking.
Cancellations made within the artist's stated cancellation window are eligible for a full refund. Late cancellations may be subject to partial or no refund as determined by the artist's policy displayed at booking time.
4. Flash Drops
Flash Drops are time-limited offers created by artists at discounted rates. Flash Drop pricing may be fixed, bidding-based, or adaptive (where the price changes over time). All pricing terms are displayed clearly before any transaction.
Bidding on Flash Drops is non-binding until the artist accepts a bid. Adaptive pricing is calculated automatically and the current price at the time of claiming is the price you pay.
5. Artist Verification
Artists may apply for Verified status by submitting government-issued identification and health/safety certifications. Verification indicates that TatMap has confirmed the artist's identity and reviewed their documentation — it does not constitute an endorsement of their work quality.
Verification documents are stored securely and are only accessible by TatMap administrators for review purposes. Documents are never shared with clients or third parties.
6. Content and Conduct
You retain ownership of all content you upload to TatMap, including portfolio images, reviews, and messages. By uploading content, you grant TatMap a non-exclusive license to display that content on our platform.
You agree not to upload content that is illegal, harassing, discriminatory, fraudulent, or that infringes on others' intellectual property rights. TatMap reserves the right to remove content and suspend accounts that violate these guidelines.
7. Reviews and Ratings
Clients may leave reviews after completed appointments. Reviews must be honest, relevant, and based on a genuine experience. Artists may respond to reviews publicly. TatMap does not edit or remove reviews except where they violate our content guidelines (e.g., harassment, spam, or fraudulent reviews).
8. Privacy and Data
Your privacy matters to us. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for details on how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.
9. Limitation of Liability
TatMap provides a platform for connecting clients and artists. We do not perform tattoo services and are not liable for the outcome of any tattoo, injury, allergic reaction, or dissatisfaction with an artist's work.
To the maximum extent permitted by Canadian law, TatMap's total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you have paid to TatMap (not to artists) in the twelve months preceding the claim.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you via email or through the platform. Your continued use of TatMap after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
